If you can rally on a tennis court, you can be dangerous on a badminton court within a month. The footwork patterns transfer almost directly — split steps, lunges, and recovery to the middle all look familiar, just played faster and lower.

The biggest adjustment is the wrist. Tennis strokes come from the shoulder, but badminton power comes from a relaxed forearm snap at contact. Our crossover sessions start with grip and net kills before moving to clears and smashes, so tennis players stop muscling the shuttle by week two.

Badminton sessions run Monday and Wednesday evenings in the clubhouse sports hall, and every Larkspur Racket Club membership includes open play across all four racket sports. Rackets are lent free — bring indoor shoes and expect a workout.
